There is this section of our life that we need to think about things we need, things that we want to do which will give us contentment and stability.
According to Webster- Priorities, or priority, is something given or meriting attention before competing alternatives.
In other words, it is that time where you sip your coffee (or hot Milo drink in my case) in the morning while you think of tomorrow. Or maybe reading the news paper and you discover that you need a bigger house.
So what are your priorities? House and Lot? A nice Car? Getting laid? Be the best in a certain field? We all have these kinds of dreams. I bet as early as prep school you already thought if these stuffs.
Well, I did too. But, not until I reached High School. I was just a kid back then (well, we all are). But, the difference is that I'm a kid with no foresight. I did not think of the future. I can't even decide what coarse I should take in college. When I was a kid I use to think of my self as a fighter jet pilot. Then for some reason I forgot all about it.
For me to somehow achieve something, I took my Mum's advice. I decided to become a Nurse. I mean being a Nurse isn't really that bad, at least you get to help people. But, four years after I realize its not really what I want. It's just the effect of "Brain Drain".
It took me four years to find out that I should have something that I 'Want'. And that's like me stuck in the middle. Now that I know I need to have something of my liking or Love, I have never been confused. So I decided to let things go as they are. Finished the coarse, completed my papers, took the National Board Exam, and pledged an Oath as a Nurse. But, I did not practice my Profession. I ended up looking for Jobs (which I failed), and now I'm involved in this huge Humanitarian Organization.
I just realize, and I mean 'I "Just" realize', that what I really need is the drive to do things and be successful. To start and finish it with good results.
But what could that be?
So now, I'm right here writing this Blog after making my list of priorities (or problems to be solved).
This certain event made me think, "Priorities are solutions to peoples problems, not fulfillment of their Dreams."
